BAR AND NIGHTCLUB PATRONS TO LOG IN VIA SMARTPHONES

The Bar and Night Club Owners Association of Zambia has disclosed that it is working on an application in collaboration with the Jersey Bar Owners Association in the United Kingdom UK that will allow patrons to register their presence through the use of their smartphones.

Association Secretary General Edmond Lifwekelo says the App which will be first rolled out on a pilot project basis is expected to be launched soon with the aim of helping in contact tracing in an event an individual tests positive or any other person that visited the bar or night club.

Mr Lifwekelo explains that the application will ensure that details of individuals visiting and registering using their smartphones are protected and their privacy respected.

He however says it would be regrettable if the country had to enter into another lock down as the sector suffered last year hence the coming up of various innovations that will help out in any way to reduce the further spread of the virus.
