Celebrated Zambia National Soccer Team international and also French Ligue 2 leaders Football Club de Metz central defender Stophilla Sunzu was last Thursday locked up in a town North East of France for alleged domestic violence.

The 29 year old Zambian defender is alleged to have beaten his wife whom, he recently paraded on social media after surprising her with a gift of a brand new Mercedes Benz, but authorities in Lorraine, France could not tolerate his kombonic behavior in a foreign land.

According to information availed to Zed Gossip, Sunzu spent the entire night on Thursday in a jail cell over alleged domestic violence against his wife.

The footballer was only released on Friday morning and only made it to the bench in Metz’s 2-1 loss to Clermont at home on Friday night owing to his arrest the previous night.

Sunzu was arrested following an alleged violent incident involving himself and his pregnant partner.

However, Sunzu’s version of the incident was that he was attempting to bring to an end an altercation between his wife Gift Katebe and another woman from France believed to be one he was caught screwing.

But the Ligue 2 club added no comment other than it would follow up with authorities’ investigations closely.

It is believed that the complaint against Sunzu, seemingly by his wife, has been withdrawn before it reaches Zambia.
