The Zambia Police Service has warned that those found without face masks will be fined K750 or be arrested and taken to court for disregarding the public health guidelines.

Police Spokesperson Esther Katongo says some offenders within Lusaka will be detained at Edwin Imboela Stadium.

Mrs Katongo was speaking during a special interview on Radio Phoenix today as COVID-19 cases and deaths escalates in the country.

President Edgar Lungu has called for strict adherence to public health guidelines and enforcement of COVID-19 related regulations to save lives.

Zambia has so far lost 246 lives from COVID-19.
